Happy birthday, Roger Federer! On this day in 1981, the tennis sensation was born in Basel, Switzerland. Federer is widely regarded as one of, if not the, greatest tennis players of all time. His 302 overall weeks at the World No. 1 spot are an Open Era record, as are his 17 Grand Slam singles titles. Throughout his 15 year professional career, Federer has developed storied rivalries with the likes of Nadal, Andy Murray, and Novak Djokovic.

Federer got started quick in his junior years, winning both the boy's singles and doubles at Wimbledon 1998. Later that year, he began playing professionally, quickly earning a reputation as a force on the courts. His first Grand Slam title came in 2003 at Wimbledon as he defeated Mark Philippoussis in the finals. The following year, he upped it to three Grand Slam titles, becoming the first person to win three since 1988. Over the years, his dominance has surged, always commanding a high spot in the ATP rankings. With an overall record of 908-208 and 77 career titles to his name, there's no doubt that Federer is among the greatest players of all time.

Since 2004, Federer has been laced in performance offerings from Nike. Beginning with the Zoom Breathe Free and eventually switching to the Zoom Vapor line, Federer currently wears the Zoom Vapor 9 tour, which was infamously banned for its colorway at Wimbledon 2013.
