True to its name, the Speed Pro Lite from Head is built for extremely fast play on the court. In fact, with a weight of just 14 ounces, it’s one the lightest and fastest men’s tennis sneakers ever. The shoe is about 12 percent lighter than the original Speed Pro, and provides a low-to-the-ground ride that promotes improved footwork and balance. In addition, the low cut, half sock construction allows the sneakers to be worn comfortably with ankle braces and custom insoles.

The immediate response from Sneaker Report weartesters was positive. Testers found the shoe to be ready for action right out of the box, without the need to be broken in. While the shoes are versatile enough to use on virtually any surface, they perform especially well on hard courts, and even beyond that, clay. The fortified toe guard on the shoe gives the sneakers durability despite its light build, making it ideal for confidently sliding into shots on clay. The Pro Lites feature Head’s CXG Comfort Grid shock absorption system, paired with a tough rubber outsole for a great feel for the court. Thanks to its synthetic leather and mesh upper bound by TPU, the shoe is extremely breathable.

Bottom Line: The Spead Pro Lite is an excellent choice for players with an all-around versatile game, or players looking to step up their on-court style.
