As evident by our recent previews of shoes like the Virrata 2, Mirage 4, and Guide 7, Saucony has big plans to upgrade its entire neutral running footwear lineup in the months ahead, and this includes the next edition of the lightweight Triumph trainer.
Scheduled for a November 2013 release, the Saucony Triumph 11 builds on over a decade of success for the popular series. As expected, the changes to the Triumph 11 are fairly minimal. After all, why mess with a good thing, right?
While the 11 has the same open mesh upper construction seen in the current model, it does feature redesigned overlays for improved support, particularly in the midfoot. To help increase runner visibility in low light conditions, Saucony has thoughtfully added a reflective screen print in the heel (something that was missing in the Triumph 10).
As far as the chassis goes, the Triumph 11 is expected to retain its PowerGrid midsole unit. However, on the shoe's outsole, Saucony added grooves to the crash pad, and has also deepened the existing grooves in the forefoot in hopes of better flexibility and a more fluid ride.
