After facing her biggest challenge yet of the 2013 U.S. Open, Serena Williams is back on top of the tennis world. As the wind whistled through Arthur Ashe Stadium, Williams defeated Victoria Azarenka 7-6, 6-7 (6-8), 6-1 and captured the 32nd Grand Slam title of her career. Williams has previously won the US Open in 1999, 2002, 2008, and 2012, and she's now 17-4 in Grand Slam singles finals appearances.

Victoria Azarenka wouldn't go down without a fight, and she took Williams to her limit, with Serena looking visibly frustrated during the second set of the match. But Williams overcame, dominating in the third set and capturing the 2013 US Open women's championship. Williams also picked up the French Open title this year, and now she's just one Grand Slam win behind all-time leaders Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova.

Serena stuck with her colorful variation of the Nike Lunar Mirabella 3, a model which you won't be able to find at retailers. However, an Air Max version is available for $90. With springy Lunarlon cushioning and plenty of lateral support, the Lunar Mirabella 3 has been Serena's go-to model for 2013. After her stellar year, hopefully Nike will consider releasing a celebratory makeup of the Lunar Mirabella to the public.
