After a red-hot run over the last year, Williams was finally stopped as Ivanovic advanced 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. In fact, red hot is an understatement when it comes to Williams’ dominant play as of late: this was her first loss since August. “How did it happen?” asked the elated Ivanovic after the win.
Meanwhile, in the NBA, Paul George threw down one of the nastiest dunks of the year en route to a 36 point showing as the Pacers dropped the Clippers. LeBron had a big night in the Zoom Soldier VII, putting up 34 points in Miami’s win over Charlotte. Was LeBron riding the motivation from Durant’s recent play?
