College football is now over, and the NFL season is entering its final weeks, but the good news is that basketball is just starting to heat up. The NBA season is in full swing, with All-Star Weekend approaching quickly, and both men's and women's college hoops are turning out plenty of thrills.
On the NBA hardwood, James Harden led the night in scoring with 38 points as his Houston Rockets dealt the Lakers a 113-99 loss. LaMarcus Aldridge came up big for the Trail Blazers in their 110-94 win over Orlando, dropping 36 points and 9 boards. Portland's Nicolas Batum (pictured) also had a huge night with a 14 point, 14 assists, and 10 rebound triple-double. From Los Angeles, the Clippes continued to look strong as they topped Boston 111-105, due in part to 29 points and 8 assists from big man Blake Griffin. There were plenty of other standout players, so be sure to hit the slides to catch them all.
No. 14 Kentucky advanced to 11-3 with a convincing win over Mississippi State. James Young had 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists for the Wildcats. He got it done in the Nike Zoom Kobe 6, a 2010 which has since been discontinued, but will be hitting shelves soon in the form of the Kobe Prelude Pack.
Catch up on all this hoops action plus women's NCAA and more after the jump.
