Before we get into The Shoes That Won Last Night, there's some awful news for Bulls fans coming out of Portland. After a lengthy recovery from an injury to his left knee, Chicago superstar Derrick Rose has now injured his right knee. He'll undergo an MRI today to determine the severity of the injury, but this comes at the worst possible time for the Bulls, who have only won a single road game so far this season. Despite his early exit, Rose led Chicago in scoring, and they gave the red-hot Trail Blazers a run for their money before Portland finished strong 98-95 and picked up their 9th straight win.

Aside from Rose's to-be-determined status, there was plenty of noteworthy hoops, both pro and college, going down last night. Lakers vet Pau Gasol led the way during a 105-92 win over Golden State with 24 points and 10 rebounds, getting it done in the Nike Hyperdunk 2013. Wesley Matthews of the Trail Blazers and Philadelphia's Spencer Hawes also had huge nights in the Hyperdunk 2013, which is quickly becoming one of the most popular models on the NBA hardwood. Elsewhere, Kevin Love continued his MVP-worthy play with 17 points and 16 rebounds in Minnesota's 111-81 blowout of Brooklyn.

In NCAA action, No. 14 Michigan and No. 18 Connecticut had their hands full with Florida State and Indiana, respectively. Meanwhile, No. 1 Michigan State and No. 2 Kansas (pictured) made their wins look effortless, with both teams winning by margins of over 20 points. Be sure to click through to find out which players stepped up and which shoes got them there.
