Between the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament and the NIT Season Tip-Off, Friday night’s NCAA men’s basketball action was full of excitement and surprises. The night’s biggest game was No. 4 Arizona getting the best of No. 6 Duke with a final of 72-66. ‘Zona was led by forward Aaron Gordon, who contributed a little bit of everything with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Elsewhere, No. 1 Michigan State continued their undefeated streak with a blowout of Mount St. Mary’s, Drexel and Alabama went the distance in a triple-overtime thriller, and the unranked Villanova Wildcats stunned No. 2 Kansas with a 63-59 win (pictured).
On the pro level, Jamal Crawford, Jrue Holiday, and Russell Westbrook all had huge nights as their respective teams picked up wins. In Indiana, the Pacers dropped the Wizards 93-73 to hold on to their number one spot in the NBA with an outstanding 15-1 record.
