Just like that, it all comes crashing down. After putting together one of the most spectacular undefeated runs in recent memory, the Wichita State Shockers finally fell to the Kentucky Wildcats (pictured) yesterday in the second round of the NCAA tournament. After leading in the first half, things fell apart for the Shockers in the second as they were outscored 39-47. Cleanthony Early did all he could to extend the perfect streak with 31 points and 7 rebounds, but Kentucky’s deep roster proved to be too much to contain. Julius Randle led the way for Kentucky with 13 points, 10 boards, and 6 assists. On Friday, the Wildcats will take on fourth-seeded Louisville in the Sweet Sixteen.
From Raleigh, North Carolina, the Virginia Cavaliers continued their unbelievable season with a 78-60 win over Memphis. After winning the regular season title and the ACC championship, Virginia now has their sights set on the national title. Remarkably, they’re the only ACC team left in contention, and they’ll meet Michigan State at 10PM Eastern on Friday.
