The Shoes That Won Last Night: UConn, Kentucky Head to Final Four

From 64 to 32, to 16 to 8, and now we have the Final Four. After Florida and Wisconsin advanced yesterday, Connecticut (pictured above) and Kentucky have now joined the fray.

Yesterday afternoon, the Connecticut Huskies and Michigan State Spartans met from Madison Square Garden. The physical contest saw Huskies senior Shabazz Napier step up in a huge way, scoring 17 of his 25 points in the second half to help rally UConn to the W after being outscored in the first. Next up, Connecticut will meet Florida on Saturday from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas with a tip-off time of 6:09 PM Eastern.

In the Elite 8's final match-up, Kentucky and Michigan faced off from Indianapolis. With both teams tied at the half, the game remained neck-and-neck the whole way through until Aaron Harrison hit a three with 2.3 seconds on the clock to lift the Wildcats to victory. Freshman Julius Randle was once again a major factor for Kentucky, dropping 16 points and another 11 rebounds to help the Cats advance to next Saturday night's Final Four showdown against Wisconsin.

After Serena took the women's trophy on Saturday, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic met yesterday to determine the Sony Open men's champion. Surprisingly, this match wasn't nearly as epic as some of the Nadal-Djokovic showdowns we've become accustomed to, with Djokovic taking an easy 6-3, 6-3 win to capture his fourth Sony Open title and improve his rivalry record against Nadal to 18-22.

Elsewhere, there was plenty of women's March Madness action, and Kevin Durant continued his uncannily consistent play with a monster game against Utah. Hit the jump to catch up on everything you might have missed.
