We're just one day into the 2013-14 NBA Playoffs, and it's already looking like one of the most promising postseasons in recent memory. Yesterday, the Nets, Warriors, Hawks, and Thunder each took 1-0 leads in their respective first round match ups.
Kicking off the action was the Toronto Raptors falling at home to Brooklyn, the first of three road wins on the day. Despite a strong showing from Kyle Lowry, the Nets were able to hang on with a 94-87 win. Joe Johnson and Deron Williams led the way for Brooklyn with 24 points apiece.
Out west, the Warriors squeezed by the Clippers 109-105 after a big evening from Klay Thompson. CP3 did all he could to keep LAC alive, but couldn't quite get the job done in the end.
The No. 1 seed Indiana Pacers fell to Atlanta 93-101 after a postseason career-high 28 points from Jeff Teague. After finishing with one of the best regular season records in the league, Indiana now finds themselves with their backs against the wall, down 0-1 to the eighth seeded Hawks.
Finally, Memphis was no match for the masterful duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. They combined for 55 points to lead the Thunder to an early advantage in the first round.
