Are we in the midst of the best NBA Playoffs first round ever? More often than not, round one match-ups are a walk in the park for the league's top teams, but this year, it seems like everyone is hungry for the ring. In fact, there's only one lopsided series in the entire field: the Miami Heat's 3-0 lead over Charlotte.
Yesterday, the thrilling finishes kept coming as Dallas slid by the San Antonio Spurs to take a 2-1 series lead. Just as it looked like San Antonio would pull away with the W, Vince Carter hit a buzzer beater 3 to lift the Mavs to a 109-108 victory. And it wasn't just Carter's incredible shot that got them there, as Monta Ellis had a huge second half and finished with 29 points. Next up, Dallas plays host once again for Game 4 on Monday, which is set for a 9:30 Eastern tip-off.
From Atlanta, the Indiana Pacers managed to even up their series against the Hawks with a 91-88 Game 4 win. Paul George came up big for Indiana with 24 points and hit a crucial three-pointer with just two minutes left which put Indiana ahead. With Indiana coming from behind and Atlanta looking poised to advance, could we be headed to the biggest upset of the playoffs? Catch the next installment of one of the Eastern Conference's hottest series on Monday at 8PM Eastern.
Despite a major off night from both Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, the Thunder managed to put away Memphis with a 92-89 overtime win. Reggie Jackson picked up the offensive load for OKC with 32 points on 11-16 shooting.
