Last night, the Memphis Grizzlies prevailed in an overtime win over Oklahoma City that came down to the closing seconds—and then some. After OKC center Serge Ibaka hit a wild put-back that would've given them the win, it was reviewed and determined he released it after the buzzer, securing the 100-99 W for Memphis. Coming into the postseason, the Thunder were considered one of the teams to beat in the west, but now they have their backs against the wall, down 2-3 as they prepare for Game 6 on the road this Thursday.
The Washington Wizards must be loving their first taste of the NBA Playoffs since 2008, because last night they upped the ante with their first postseason series win in 9 years. John Wall and Nenê led the way for the Wiz, combining for 44 points in their 75-69 dismissal of the Chicago Bulls. With the win, Washington takes the series 4-1 and will meet the winner of the Indiana-Atlanta series in the Conference Semifinals.
After a landmark ruling from commissioner Adam Silver, the Los Angeles Clippers let their play do the talking with a 113-103 Game 5 win over Golden State. DeAndre Jordan led the way for LAC with a huge double-double, racking up 25 points and 18 rebounds as they took a 3-2 first round lead. Up next, Golden State faces a must-win situation at home Thursday at 10:30 Eastern.
