If you thought the NBA postseason action would level off anytime soon, think again. The thrills continued last night as Los Angeles and Oklahoma City left it all in the court in a last-minute finish. The Thunder secured a 105-104 Game 5 win after pushing through a 7 point disadvantage with under a minute left. Despite a controversial finish that left LAC coach Doc Rivers fuming, you can't take anything anyway from the improbable rally that the Thunder pulled off. Russell Westbrook was in top form, dumping 38 points and the game-winning free throws on the Clippers, making up for a rough night for Kevin Durant. The 2013-14 MVP shot just 1-for-11 in the first 44 minutes of play, but still managed to finish with 27 points. If that's not MVP material, we don't know what is.
Earlier in the evening, Indiana played host to the Washington Wizards for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. With a 3-1 lead and home court advantage, the deck was completely stacked in Indiana's favor. Yet quarter after quarter, Washington mopped the floor with the shellshocked Pacers, finishing with a huge 102-79 W and sending a message that they aren't giving up that easily. Center Marcin Gortat was the key factor for the Wizards, turning in a career playoff high 31 points and grabbing 16 boards.
