After losing a close Game 2 at home, the San Antonio Spurs came into Miami with a vengeance. Last night, the versatile Western Conference champs put a hurting on the Miami Heat and broke a couple records along the way. The Spurs absolutely dominated the first quarter with a 41-25 lead, making 19 of their first 21 shots and missing just eight from the field by halftime. This 76% offensive showing was the best by any team during the span of a half in NBA Finals history, and the early momentum proved to be too much for LeBron and the Heat. San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard was on fire all night, shooting 10-13 for a career-high 29 points and holding King James to just 22 points. And it wasn't just Leonard—Danny Green shot a lights out 7-for-8, while Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginboili also had strong performances. This win gives the Spurs a huge advantage, as they'll play Game 4 in Miami on Thursday before heading back home. If Miami ties it up, they'll continue their three-peat dreams, but if San Antonio takes a 3-1 lead, they might as well give them the Larry O'Brien trophy then and there.
