Ten minutes. That's all Mexico needed to rack up a 3-0 lead against Croatia from 72'-82', and they were able to hang on for a 3-1 win to advance to the elimination round of the World Cup. Rafael Marquez sparked the Mexico run with a header, followed by goals from Andres Guardado and Javier Hernandez to build an insurmountable lead for Croatia. With the win, Mexico finishes with 7 points in Group A, tying with Brazil, who were also in action with a 4-1 win over Cameroon. Elsewhere, Spain won their first game of the Cup against Australia 3-0, but it was too little, too late for the defending champs as Netherlands and Chile will advance in Group B.
Across the pond, Wimbledon opened with its first day of action. In men's singles matches, defending champion Andy Murray advanced, as well as Novak Djokovic, David Ferrer, and a number of other ranked players. Click through the gallery above to see the best performing white sneakers of day one.
