The Shoes That Won Last Night: Rory McIlroy Leads Open Championship

After the first round of the British Open, Rory McIlroy is in the lead with 66, but a hungry Tiger Woods is right on his trail. Playing in just his first major of the year, Tiger worked his way out of a rough start to finish at 69, tying for 10th place. Woods opened the round with two bogeys, but quickly rebounded, showing signs of his old self as he improved his score. This is Tiger's third competitive match since his back surgery in March, and he's hoping to win his first major championship in six years. The last time he was able to win in Liverpool goes even farther back to 2006, but if he's able to keep up the level of play we saw today, Tiger could very well be on his way to his 15th title. In the meantime, McIlroy is in charge, but he's been known to have bad luck in second rounds, so it remains to be seen if he'll hang on. Hit the jump for a full recap of all the shoes worn by the day's top players.
