Last night, the third round of the 2013 Capital One Cup kicked off and MLB action delivered a near-no hitter.

In Burnley's 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest, Burnley came back to win from a 1-0 deficit thanks to two goals from striker Danny Ings, who zipped by defenders in the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX. Burnley will continue their march into the fourth round in late October.

On the baseball diamond, St. Louis Cardinals pitcher had everyone on the edge of their seats as he went 8.2 innings and only allowed a single hit. Wacha wore the Nike Air Max Gamer as the Cards picked up a 2-0 shutout win over the Washington Nationals. Jason Vargas of the Los Angeles Angels was also impressive, pitching for 9 innings and allowing just 4 hits as the Angles defeated Oakland 3-0.

Find out the rest of the night's top performers and the shoes they wore on the next page.
