Lets face the facts. We live in a society that is driven by the need of our phone, and everyone is guilty. No matter where we go, our phones are attached to the hip like an extra body part and rightfully so because everything we use it for. Even at the gym, almost everyone you see is using their phones as their fitness coach, time keeper, and iPod all in one, and the worst thing that could happen getting that dreaded low battery sign which can throw off a whole workout. Fear no more, as new technology has surfaced that could eliminate your battery troubles, as sweat is now being used to charge your phone. You read that right....sweat.

Researchers at the University of California, San Diego are currently working on a system of temporary tattoos to wear at the gym that will use your sweat to power all your devices. The tattoos are essentially batteries, pulling electrons from the lactic acid released in your sweat and converting them into useable energy. The goal is to have the technology built directly into workout apparel which would further elevate the trend of wearable technologies. The technology is still in the works as researchers are trying to maximize the output of energy produced by your sweat so it can power the devices we use on an everyday basis.

Sure, it sounds kind of gross, but once you move past that notion the technology is actually rather revolutionary and could change the way we view workout attire. If everything comes to fruition, we can all but guarantee that every major company will jump at the opportunity to use the tech in their apparel and profit off the growth of wearables.

Let us know what you think of the sweat powering technology, and if you would pick up workout attire enabled with this breakthrough tech.
