SPOTTED: Serena Williams Hits Australian Open in “BHM” Air Max Mirabella III

Fifteen-time Grand Slam singles champ Serena Williams has suffered what may be the biggest upset in this year’s Australian Open. She was defeated in her quarterfinal match-up against nineteen-year-old Slaone Stephens with a score of 3-6, 7-5, 6-4. Perhaps most shocking about this upset is the fact that Serena was red hot coming into the quarterfinals, winning twenty straight matches before this loss. Stephens will proceed to the semifinals where she will face the world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, Serena looked damn good out there in her Nike gear. She rotated sneakers a couple times, but these “Black History Month” Air Max Mirabella IIIs were the biggest reveal of the bunch. The Mirabella IIIs utilized full-length Phylon foam and a visible Max Air unit for cushioning and use an arch-fit lacing system for proper lockdown on the courts.

This special “Black History Month” colorway of Serena’s sneakers aren’t yet confirmed for a retail release, but stick with Sneaker Report for any updates if you’re looking to grab a pair for yourself.
