As the Dallas Mavericks look to make the NBA Playoffs, the entire team is stepping up for the final push. Last night, the Mavericks gave the New Orleans Hornets a 107-89 thrashing. Dallas was led in scoring by Shawn Marion, who had 21 points and also contributed seven rebounds and six assists. Dirk Nowitzki had a solid game as well with 19 points and six rebounds, but it was the mark he made on NBA history that had everyone talking afterwards.
Nowitzki became just the 17th player in history to reach 25,000 career points, joining an elite cast of players including Jerry West, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and other legends. As far as active players, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Tim Duncan are all hovering close to 25K, but only time will tell if they join Dirk and the others who have reached the offensive pinnacle.
Dirk's been recently spotted in the Nike Hyperdunk 2011, but switched it up last night to the Lunar-equipped Hyperdunk 2012. This model also featured supportive Flywire and a breathable Hyperfuse construction. Pick them up today for $84 from Nike.
