SPOTTED: Harden Drops a Career-high 46 Points Against Former Team

Despite a triple-double effort from Kevin Durant, it was James Harden and the Houston Rockets who prevailed Wednesday night in a Western Conference showdown against visiting Oklahoma City Thunder.

Harden had a night to remember, as the former OKC Thunder exacted sweet revenge on the team that traded him. It was the first time he was able to beat his former team, and it certainly wasn’t easy, as the Rockets needed a career-high 46 points from Harden to escape with a 122-119 win.

Led by their star player, the Rockets mounted a valiant double-digit comeback in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter to shock Durant and OKC. Laced up in his Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2012 Lows, Harden was feeling it from all over the court. He went 11 of 12 from the free-thrown line, hit a career-high seven 3-pointers, and even added eight rebounds and six assists to his totals.

Since being traded to Houston, Harden has been having a MVP-type season. Though, with the like of LeBron James and KD in the conversation, Harden doesn’t stand much of a change to actually win the award. Regardless, the 23-year-old stud has certainly established himself as one of the better shooting guards currently in the league. We expect big things yet to come from Harden.
