SPOTTED: John Lannan Finishes off Former Team in the Nike Air MVP Pro Metal

Last night, Phillies pitcher John Lannan faced off against his former team, the Washing Nationals, taking the mound for eight innings and allowing no runs from the Nationals. Lannan allowed just four hits and struck out four batters, registering another 12 groundouts along the way. “At this point, I’m looking for consistency. It doesn’t matter who I’m facing. I have to put up zeroes. That’s what I have to do, keep the ball on the ground. I’m not a strikeout guy,” Lannan told the Associated Press. This was Lanna’s lengthiest period on the mound in four years.

In the ninth, Jonathan Papelbon relieved Lannan, putting Philadelphia’s lead at risk as he quickly allowed two runs. The Phillies were able to pull it together and close out the night, kicking off a big four-game series against the Nationals with a win. Although the decisive moment came in the ninth, there’s no doubt that Lannan’s pitching helped the Phillies develop their lead.

Lannan, much like another pitcher who’s been red-hot, took the mound in the Nike Air Pro MVP Metal. This nine-cleat model is loaded with Air cushioning in the heel and a dynamic fit sleeve for a lockdown feel on the diamond. Try them out today for $65.
