SPOTTED: Sylvia Fowles Goes into “Beast Mode” in the Nike Zoom Hyper Quickness

Chicago Sky coach Pokey Chatman kept it short and sweet when asked about center Sylvia Fowles’ performance last night: “She was in beast mode,” said Chatman after Wednesday’s 89-85 win over the Washington Mystics. We couldn’t have put it better ourselves. Fowles absolutely went off, putting up 26 points on 12-17 shooting and snatching 18 rebounds, 10 of them being offensive boards. She also added three blocks for good measure, helping to push the Sky to 9-4 overall. They’re now second overall in the Eastern Conference as the WNBA season begins to heat up.

Of course, Chicago may not have pulled out the win if it wasn’t for Epiphany Prince’s last-minute jumper, which stretched the lead to four and put the game out of Washington’s reach. Prince had 15 points on the night, while Elena Delle Donne added 18 for Chicago.

Fowles wore a slick, player-exclusive colorway of the Nike Hyper Quickness. The Hyper Quickness is built with a durable Hyperfuse upper and features plenty of cutouts for ventilation and airflow. Zoom Air cushioning provides responsiveness in the forefoot, which is ideal for quick, high-performance players. The only thing about the Hyper Quickness that has us puzzled is the fact that Nike doesn’t offer it in a women’s version. The men’s version of the Hyper Quickness is available today for $105, but this version of the Hyperdunk may be more suitable for the ladies.
