When the lights came back on and the dust settled, the Baltimore Ravens walked out of New Orleans with the Vince Lombardi trophy. The night had a number of underlying stories: the final game of Ray Lewis’ illustrious career, the Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh match-up, a lengthy power outage and subsequent momentum shift, and two shining QBs facing off in a closely contested game.
But perhaps most intriguing is the fact that some of the game’s biggest performers chose to leave their special edition cleats in the locker rooms and stick with what’s been working for them all season. Earlier this week, Sneaker Report previewed the Nike Alpha Pro and UA Nitro Icon Super Bowl cleats. And as awesome as these event-specific cleats were, it seems that very few players actually chose to wear them for the big game. Check out The 5 Best Cleats of Super Bowl XLVII.
