Last fall we gave you a sneak peek at one of Saucony’s most anticipated running sneaker releases for Spring ’13, the Mirage 3. After months of waiting, the sneaker has finally arrived at online retailers and running specialty stores across the country.

The Sneaker Report crew was so excited for the Mirage 3 that we went ahead and added it to our early edition of the 50 performance sneakers to watch for in 2013. And after getting a closer look at it at last month’s Winter Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake City, we were sold on the ultra-light neutral running shoe.

With a design that mimics the Kinvara series, the third installment of the Mirage features FlexFilm layers on the upper for a seamless, lightweight fit. The 3 comes with ProGrid heel cushioning that is 20% more responsive than traditional EVA. An XT-900 carbon rubber outsole gives the shoe great traction and stability. The deeper grooves in the forefoot are put in place to give the shoe more flexibility, thus providing that natural running motion.
