Abeba Aregawi

Just when you thought that the World Championships in Moscow were over, world-class runners are at it again starting today at DN Galan in Stockholm - the next meet in the IAAF Diamond League series. Gold Medalists like Abeba Aregawi, Asbel Kiprop, and Meseret Defar, along with several top Americans will have their chance to upper their last year’s personal best and make new record attempts. So it’s safe to expect to see the fastest races instead of the tactical ones of the world championships.

As they gear up you can expect to see the Men’s 200m, 400m, 1500m and the 3000m along with other intense races.  For the women you will see the 100m, 8oom, 3000m, and 400m. It looks to be an intense drama filled day as the first races begins. Other events such as the Long Jump, Discus, Pole Vault, Triple Jump and Javelin will also be held during this Diamond League series in Stockholm. One race to look out for will be the womens 800m as Sweden’s own World Champion Abeba Aregwi will face up against Enice Sum of Kenya. These ladies have a little history as they competed earlier this year against each other at the last Diaond League meet in Doha.

Head over to Diamond League to get full schedule of today’s events. Keep it locked here at Sneaker Report to get the latest from the Diamond League games in Stockholm.
