Of the countless milestones and accomplishments in the game of professional basketball, the most impressive of all may be the incredibly rare quadruple-double. In order to achieve the feat, a player must put up double-digit numbers in four of the five major stat categories: points scored, rebounds, assists, steals, and/or blocks. Since the NBA began recording stats for blocked shots and steals in the 1973-74 season, only four players have officially record a quadruple-double: Nate Thurmond, Alvin Robertson, Hakeem Olajuwon, and David Robinson.

It was February 18, 1986 when the San Antonio Spurs faced the Phoenix Suns. With twenty points, eleven rebounds, ten assists, and ten steals, San Antonio shooting guard Alvin Robertson would become just the second player in history to record a quadruple double. Unlike the other three players to achieve this feat with blocks, Robertson is the only player to have ten or more steals as part of his achievement. The four-time NBA All-Star had an impressive career, winning both Most Improved and Defensive Player of the Year in 1986. Towards the close of his NBA career, he was also the first player to score in Toronto Raptors franchise history. Unfortunately, Robertson's personal life since retiring has been full of legal problems and arrests, but he'll always be remembered for his skills on the court.

Throughout his lengthy career, Robertson wore Nike high tops. In '86, Alvin chose to hit the hardwood the just-introduced Nike Air Force 2. An update on the groundbreaking Air Force 1, the Air Force 2 featured a encapsulated Air unit much like its predecessor, along with extra perforations and a truly ahead of its time molded heel cup.

Unfortunately, the Air Force 2's popularity has never quite matched that of the original AF1, so Nike has shown some restraint in retro releases over the years. If you're determined to pick up a pair, your best bet is eBay.
