Under Armour has flashed its innovative capacity plenty of times before, but perhaps never like this.
In June, UA will launch its latest running shoe, the SpeedForm, designed to be completely at one with your feet. Inspired by bra manufacture Playtex--yeah, you read that correctly--who won the contract to build the space suits for NASA's original Apollo Project due to its understanding of the human anatomy, UA took the same logic and applied it to performance footwear.
The ultra-light SpeedForm features a seamless, stitch-free upper that fits like a sock. The SpeedForm comes with a one-piece heel cup reinforced with a synthetic overlay for some structural integrity. An articulated Micro G sole offers responsive cushioning while keeping the weight of the shoe down. The shoe’s outsole mimics the natural design of the human foot, and flexes accordingly thanks to strategically placed flex groves. The SpeedForm weighs in at just under 6 ounces—perfect for racing.
