NBA: Preseason Chicago Bulls at Cleveland Cavaliers

The long road to recovery finally appeared to be over for Derrick Rose as he looked back to MVP form for the first time since his injury. Supposedly many people around the league were beginning to worry about Rose after subpar performance in the FIBA World Cup, and a rather mediocre preseason start. Last night in the Bulls game against LeBron and the Cavs, D Rose put those rumors to bed.

Laced up in the hometown adidas D Rose 5 Boost, the Bulls point guard appeared to benefit from the energy returning properties Boost has to offer. Rose went off for 30 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in just 24 minutes. Derrick put any questions about his explosiveness and speed to rest as he torched Kyrie Irving all night, taking him to the bucket over and over with ease. The signature highlight of the night came when Rose hit Kyrie with a crossover that spin him around, leading to a sick reverse layup that looked like the D Rose of old.

Although the Bulls ended up losing the game, this had to feel like a win for both D Rose and adidas. With Rose back in top form, the nerves at adidas can finally settle a bit as they have their top endorser healthy for the first time in over two years. Hopefully this is a window in what this season has in store, and the capabilities Boost offers. If Rose keeps playing like that, the D Rose 5 Boost will certainly fly off the shelves once they drop October 23.
