Penny Hardaway's impact on the NBA and basketball as a whole stretches well beyond his achievments on the court. During the mid 90's, Penny was a poster boy for the NBA and Nike, leading his Orlando Magic to the 1995 Finals alongside Shaquille O'Neal, and releasing multiple signature shoes, none more popular then the Air Foamposite. Everyone remember's the Lil Penny character, voiced by Chris Rock, who was a staple in Nike's marketing campaign for Penny, and is now paying homage to Hardaway with the upcoming Shooting Star pack.

The pack comes complete with a special Foamposite Penny debuted last year, and the first signature for his loud mouth side kick, the Lil Penny Posite. Penny debuted the Magic inspired Foamposite at last year's NBA All-Star weekend with much uncertainty at the time of they would ever hit retail. The all white Foam includes a Magic blue sock liner, laces, and stars along the upper. The Lil Penny Posite blends elements from other Nike sneakers like the Air Up and the Air Zoom Rookie to come up with a unique design. Nike incorporated a full-length Lunar midsole for increased cushioning while on the court, and has a decoupled Posite upper that maintains the sneakers flexibility.

The Nike Shooting Star pack will be available at select Nike Sportswear retailers and on Nike.com beginning May 17.
