The other day, Nike released official images of the upcoming 'Shooting Stars' pack, paying homage to Orlando Magic great Penny Hardaway. A major ambassador for the brand during the late 90's and early 2000's, Penny had numerous signature shoes and commercial campaigns while with Nike, with none being more popular than the spots with Lil Penny, and the ever popular Foamposite.
In honor of the 'Shooting Stars' pack, we're remembering one of the most classic Nike commercials of all time, and easily the most memorable from the Penny era. Featuring Chris Rock as 'Lil Penny' and Tyra Banks, the commercial debuted back in 1997 promoting Hardaway's latest signature shoe, the Nike Air Penny III.
Included in the Nike 'Shooting Stars' pack is a pair of Foamposites, which we first saw at last year's NBA All Star Weekend, and the Nike Lil Penny Posite coming in a traditional Orlando magic inspired colorway.
