Ever since returning to Cleveland this season, LeBron's love for his home state of Ohio has been on display. Today, Nike and King James announced a new program which takes the superstars's appreciation of Ohio even further with the #iDYOURHERO initiative.

Over the next 12 days, Nike will be releasing a limited edition LeBron 12 iD per day inspired by one of 12 local heroes in the northeast Ohio area. Of the 12 sneakers, LeBron will choose one pair to actually wear on-court for an upcoming Cavaliers game. Through the initiate, Nike wants you to design a pair of LeBron 12s inspired by one of your heroes and share the backstory on social media. Among the individuals being recognized by Nike and James are his high school basketball coach at St. Vincent-St. Mary, a local restaurant owner and the spokesman for the Cleveland Fire Department.

Check out each of the LeBron 12 colorways in the gallery above and head over to NikeiD to design your own LeBron 12 inspired by your local hero.
