The road to the 2014 NBA Finals begins in just one week as teams are vying for the final playoff spots in the season’s closing games. With the playoffs, comes a increased sense of competition and urgency as each team ramps up their game in hopes of bringing home the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy. In commemoration of the playoffs, the Nike Basketball Elite “Gold Series” was unveiled, featuring the KD VI, Kobe 9, and LeBron XI, all outfitted with premium materials and gold detailing.
The Nike KD VI Elite Gold features a full length, visible Nike Zoom unit, for the first time in the history of KD signature sneakers. Also included in the KD gold collection, is the Flywire technology, reinforced with Kevlar aramid fibers, providing the league’s leading scorer with a supportive lockdown fit. The KD VI Elite Gold boasts a white upper with crimson accents and gold detailing along the swoosh, and KD logo.
The Nike Kobe 9 Elite is the Swoosh’s first basketball shoe featuring their coveted Flyknit technology. This white, grey and black silhouette maximizes innovation and tech by incorporating Nike’s Lunarlon, dynamic Flywire, and carbon fiber materials. The gold detailing brings the whole look together, but unfortunately Kobe won’t have a chance to lace these up this season as you may have heard he’s out for the year, and his Lakers are one of the worst in the West.
Finally the Nike LeBron 11 Elite Gold, was designed to fit King James, fast and strong pace of play. Nike outfitted the LeBron 11 Elite with a lower cut and new external cage to lock the foot in place better then previous models. Just about every piece of Nike tech was added including Lunarlon, Hyperposite, dynamic Flywire fiber, and Nike Zoom unit, all to maximize LeBron’s game during the final playoff push.
All three models of the Nike Basketball Elite Series Gold Collection will release June 6, on Nike.com and at select Nike Basketball retailers worldwide.
