This weekend the annual premier basketball game, the Nike Hoop Summit, will be played, showcasing some of the world's greatest players 19 and under. The University of Kentucky is coming off a historic run to the National Championship but fell short as they lost to UConn in a battle nobody could have predicted. Although Kentucky lost, it's just another adjustment the Wildcats and coach John Calipari will have to make, as many of his players are expected to leave after one year and enter the NBA Draft. Fortunately for Calipari, he's one of the nation's top recruiters, including Trey Lyles and Karl Towns Jr, who both committed to join Kentucky next year.

Trey Lyles, a true 7' footer, will represent Canada, and forged his bond his Calipari as he helped bring the Dominican Republic national team in the 2012 pre-Olympic qualifying tournament.

“I was very eager and honored when I was invited to be part of the team this year. I’ll be able to play with Karl, who is also going to Kentucky, and just being able to go out and compete with other top level guys on a high stage, to show our ability… it will be fun.” Lyles said.

The Karl he speaks of would be Karl Towns Jr,  a 6'11 center and Gatorade National Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year, out of St. Josephs High School in New Jersey. Towns and Lyles will bolster up the Wildcats front line, which has been incredibly strong recently producing the likes of Anthony Davis, Nerlens Noel, and this year, Julius Randle.

“It’s been great watching these guys in the tournament,” said Towns. “And having Trey here at Hoop Summit has given us a chance to really get to know each other ahead of next year. We’ve been able to learn about each other on the court.”
