So long, Federer. After an inspiring road to the semifinals, Roger Federer's Australian Open chase has come to an end. Early yesterday morning, the two legends went head to head from Melbourne Park, with Nadal taking a 7-6 (4), 6-3, 6-3 win in the end. This adds to Nadal's commanding rivalry lead over Federer, advancing to a record of 23-10 in all matches since 2004 and 3-0 in Australian Open meetings. From this point, Nadal will meet Novak Djokovic in the finals tomorrow morning at 3:30 AM eastern.
In Friday night's NBA action, it was all about Carmelo Anthony. The Knicks forward exploded with a New York Knicks and Madison Square Garden record 62 points, and added 13 rebounds for good measure. Melo's shot was on all night, as he went a total of 23-35 from the field. Elsewhere, Orlando's Tobias Harris had a huge night against the Lakers with 28 points and 20 rebounds.
Catch up on the details of all this action and more after the jump.
