Pitching usually seems to be the biggest aspect of playoff baseball. Last night, some bats awoke as the Los Angeles Dodgers scored six runs and the Detroit Tigers scored seven runs in their respective wins. Clutch hits are a part of the game and power was on full display. Adrian Gonzalez hit two home runs for the Dodgers in their victory as they staved off elimination. Miguel Cabrera powered through injury to have a few big hits in the Detroit Tigers' 7-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox to tie the ALCS series at 2.

Every now and then during the NBA preseason, we get reminded that the NBA is back. Derrick Rose reminded us today with a 22-point performance that had fans on their feet. Expect a fantastic comeback from Rose this season as he returns from knee problems. Here are The Shoes That Won Last Night.

Player: Kyle Lowry
Game: Toronto Raptors vs. Boston Celtics

The Toronto Raptors have been on fire during the preseason. Despite struggling all of last season, the Raptors have gotten off to a solid 4-1 start in the 2013 preseason. For the Raptors to be successful this season, they're going to need Kyle Lowry to play the power point guard. He's a physical guard, but had a down year last year during his first year in Toronto. Lowry had 11 points for the Raptors in their close 99-97 victory over the Boston Celtics.

Game: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. St. Louis Cardinals

Stability is always going to be an important part to a contending playoff team in the MLB. The Dodgers have some wild personalities on their team like Yasiel Puig, but a source of stability for the Dodgers has been Carl Crawford during the playoffs. Crawford homered to right in the bottom of the fifth inning to extend the Dodgers lead to 4-2. Crawford has been solid this postseason batting .308 throughout nine playoff games and will have an impact down the line of the NLCS.

Player: Monta Ellis
Game: Dallas Mavericks vs. Indiana Pacers

The knock on Monta Ellis is that he is strictly a scorer, and in that respect, he's not the most efficient player. Ellis joined the Mavericks after signing a three-year, $24 million deal. In the preseason, Ellis has done a good job of displaying his playmaking and distributing skills, all while complementing star Dirk Nowitzki's strong offensive skills. In last night's matchup with the Indiana Pacers, Ellis shot 5-for-7 from the field and had 9 assists in just 24 minutes of action. The Mavericks defeated the Indiana Pacers 92-85 and much of that can be thanks to Ellis' work as a playmaker.

Player: Torii Hunter
Game: Detroit Tigers vs. Boston Red Sox

You can't teach an old dog new tricks, but you can rearrange their place in the starting lineup. After being moved to the leadoff spot in his career for the first time since 1999, Hunter responded with two RBIs in Detroit's 7-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox. Hunter's veteran experience has been a big boost to the lineup and he continued to show and prove last night to even up the ALCS series.

Shoe: Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2013 PE
Player: Shawn Marion
Game: Dallas Mavericks vs. Indiana Pacers

Shawn Marion is entering his 15th NBA season, so the veteran does not have much time. Marion had 18 points and 11 rebounds in just 25 minutes for the Dallas Mavericks as they defeated the Indiana Pacers 92-85 last night. As the Mavericks try to bounce back from a season where they failed to make the playoffs, "The Matrix" will be important once again for his ability to defend and contribute in various areas of scoring, rebounding, and hustle all while standing out in his special PE pair of the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2013.

Player: Miguel Cabrera
Game: Detroit Tigers vs. Boston Red Sox

Cabrera has been dealing with lingering groin and abdomen injuries since September and it clearly has affected on his game. Cabrera is batting just .257 which is way below his regular numbers, but the former Triple Crown Winner bounced back last night. Cabrera had two RBI singles in the bottom of the second and fourth innings as the Tigers broke open a 7-0 lead against the Red Sox.

Shoe: Nike Hyperdunk 2013 PE
Player: Carlos Boozer
Game: Chicago Bulls vs. Detroit Pistons

Derrick Rose is great and all, but he's going to have some help this season as the Bulls look to rebound from a solid, but relatively average season. Boozer was their high-priced free agent acquisition back in 2010, but he has provided less value than for what he signed for. Boozer averaged 16.2 PPG and 9.8 RPG last year which is solid, but just not getting the job done. His defense has always been a weakness as well. In Chicago's preseason win over the Detroit Pistons, Boozer had 10 points and 11 rebounds in just 21 minutes of action. Those are good numbers, so maybe Boozer can rebound and defend to bring himself back to his Utah days with the Nike Hyperdunk 2013.

Player: Doug Fister
Game: Detroit Tigers vs. Boston Red Sox

The talk of Detroit's elite starting pitching usually centers around the work of Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander. Doug Fister stepped up to Game Four with fire in his eyes as he got the win helping the Detroit Tigers even up their series with the Boston Red Sox. Fister threw six innings and gave up just one run while striking out seven batters. The Tigers now have a chance to stay within striking distance of winning this series that has essentially become a best-of-three series with three games left.

The entire NBA has been put on notice. Derrick Rose is back, so get prepared for a battle. D-Rose missed the last preseason game with a sore knee worrying everyone, but he came back like nothing happened in Chicago's 96-81 victory over the Detroit Pistons. Rose scored 22 points all while adding 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Rose was making the cuts on his adidas D Rose 4's that made him famous. His acrobatic display got a standing ovation from the home crowd which is very rare in a preseason game.

Game: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. St. Louis Cardinals

For the Los Angeles Dodgers, the word two has to be extra nice. The Dodgers won their second game in their NLCS matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals. They won that game thanks to two home runs from first baseman Adrian Gonzalez. Gonzalez hit his first home run in the bottom of the third inning to break a 2-2 tie, and he hit his second blast in the bottom of the eight inning to give the Dodgers a 6-2 lead and some breathing room going into the ninth inning. The Dodgers are now down 3-2 in their series, but will live to fight another day.
