The NFL Week Nine took place with some great performances throughout the Sunday schedule. It was time to turn back the clocks, and a couple of players turned back the clock. Chris Johnson brought us back to 2010 with a 150 yard rushing performance and Tom Brady and the Patriots lit up the Steelers for 55 points. The player of the day had to go to Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles who threw for a record-tying seven touchdown passes in an Eagles 49-20 victory over the Oakland Raiders.

The NBA season continued and featured some solid games across the board. Russell Westbrook returned earlier than expected for the Oklahoma City Thunder, and struggled, but his presence helped Kevin Durant pull out an efficient 33-point, 10-rebound double-double and an Oklahoma City win in their home opener. LeBron James got the Heat back on track with 25 points in a 103-93 win for the Heat over the Washington Wizards. Check out The Shoes That Won Last Night.

Player: Sean Smith
Game: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills

Game changers are players who can make big pays in a split second to turn something small into a touchdown. Sean Smith is one of those players and he proved that in the Chiefs 23-13 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Smith had a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter that evened up the game 10-10. Talk about manufacturing points for your team. Smith is a really solid corner and making a clutch play that put his team back in the game was integral to the Chiefs being able to survive and continue their unbeaten streak and season at 9-0.

Player: Chris Ivory
Game: New York Jets vs. New Orleans Saints

Nothing is sweeter than paying your former team some good ol' revenge. Chris Ivory of the Jets did just that yesterday when he ran for 139 yards and a touchdown on just 18 carries. Ivory sprung several big runs in the game including a 52 yard run early on in the game. The Jets won 26-20 and they can attribute Ivory's running game to solving the problem. The run adds some more consistency and makes the Jets offense less predictable. It also puts a lot less pressure on rookie Geno Smith which will lead to better offense and more wins. It's a win-win-win situation.

Andrew Luck keeps building his profile as an elite quarterback with performances like his game last night against the Houston Texans. Despite facing an 18-point deficit at halftime, Luck put the Texans defense to the test with some great throws. He connected with his wide receiver T.Y. Hilton three times in the second half as the Colts outscored the Texans 24-3 after halftime. One of those passes was a 58-yard hookup early in the fourth quarter. Luck threw for 271 yards as the Colts improved to a 6-2 record.

Riley Cooper's definitely trying to forget how bad of a start to his NFL season he had. Fresh out of the gates of training camp, Cooper caught flack and criticism for uttering a racial slur at a concert. Performances like yesterday's will do good for Cooper as he moves on and builds positive press. The NFL is a "What Have You Done For Me Lately" league, and Cooper is on top right now after having 139 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns in the Eagles 49-20 victory over the Oakland Raiders. Cooper caught two of his three touchdown catches early in the second quarter to make a 7-3 Eagles lead a 21-3 lead.

The Miami Heat suffered their first losing streak in nearly a year after losing to the Brooklyn Nets on Friday. They rebounded with a solid 103-93 victory over the Washington Wizards. King James has a ridiculous amount of commercials in rotation, but he proves that that television love is well deserved on a regular basis. James had 25 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists in the Miami Heat win as he was able to regain his shooting touch. LBJ hit 3 triples in the victory that pushes the Heat back to .500.

Game: Orlando Magic vs. Brooklyn Nets

The Orlando Magic upset the Brooklyn Nets last night embarrassing them in a 107-86 victory. One key part in that victory was rookie Victor Oladipo. It's been a learning process for the second overall pick, but he's a quick learner based off of his 19 point, 6 rebound, 4 assist performance in the victory. To further add insult to injury, Oladipo also had the play of the night when he pulled off a 360-dunk on a breakaway in the fourth quarter. As Amar'e Stoudemire would say, that's phenomenal.

Tom Brady came with the fire yesterday as the Patriots rung off 55 points on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Brady was solid through the first three quarters, but in the fourth quarter Brady just blitzed the Steelers defense with big throw after big throw. Player: Kevin Durant
Game: Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Phoenix Suns

Last night the focus was all on Russell Westbrook. Would he be fine returning from injury so soon? Could he contribute right away? Was he going to wear some special designer shirt in his return to the court? At the end of the day, Kevin Durant stole the show when he dropped 33 points and 10 rebounds in the Thunder's home opening 103-96 win over the Phoenix Suns. Durant will greatly benefit from Westbrook being back as opposing defenses have zeroed in on KD and thrown multiple double and triple teams at the Durantula. We expect some more efficient nights from Durant in his signature Nike Zoom KD VI's and less losing nights for OKC.

Player: Nick Foles
Game: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Oakland Raiders

Michael Vick might not ever return as the head of the Philadelphia Eagles offensive attack. Vick's job is at stake because of the performance of second year quarterback Nick Foles. The Eagles quarterback threw for 406 yards and 7 touchdowns in the Eagles 49-20 victory over the Oakland Raiders. Foles actually threw more touchdowns (7) than incompletions (6) in the win. Foles tied the NFL record with the 7 touchdowns thrown so Vick better get ready to pack his bags if Foles continues with even more greater performances. The Eagles moved to 4-5 with the win.
