SPOTTED: Carmelo Anthony leads Knicks to First Win of 2013 in the Jordan M9′s

Well the New Year has come, which means even more excitement for hoops fans. Football is ending, pitchers and catchers is still months away and hockey is experiencing technical difficulties at the moment. All the media focus will be centered around the Knicks, more specifically on Carmelo Anthony. He’s having an MVP caliber season, but can he maintain it and bring a title back to MSG?

Of course we won’t know that answer until June, but we did see him give the Spurs 23 and eight last in New York’s 100-83 win. Carrying over winning ways into the New Year is great for the Knicks and it looks like Melo’s energy has inspired Jordan Brand. Let’s be honest, recent designs for Jordan, as opposed to retro’s, aren’t always head turners. But the Jordan Melo 9’s take a huge step in the right direction by reverting to what made Jordans so special in the first place, mixing aesthetic and basketball function in a way that the whole sneaker culture can appreciate. The M9’s Zoom Unit protects Melo when he lands after attacking the rim or after he elevates on his jumper and the mesh liner keeps his foot cool by making the shoe breathable. But the unique construction of the upper should appeal to a crowd even outside of basketball.

Whether Anthony can lead the Knicks to a title this season or not, he’s already won a chip with these kicks.
