When it comes to the guard spot in Houston, Jeremy Lin is filling the role better than many expected. He passes the eye-test, averaging 12.5 points per night and 6.2 assists, which are solid numbers but don’t immediately jump out. So when Lin leads the team, like he did last night scoring 28 points and dropping nine assists, people take notice.
Also hard not to notice Lin’s Hypergamer PE low, which he’s now made his own. The herringbone traction on the outsole, added to the Hyperfused upper, make a great shoe to utilize the dribble-pull up, drive hard to the paint or use the other options that come with being a pick-and-roll point. There may not be too many “Linsanity” sightings so far this year, but it’s kind of nice not to have them. That took away from who Lin is and he’s finally starting to show us.
