This might be the season where Kevin Durant steals an MVP from LeBron James. He’s shooting 52% from the field, 42% from the 3-point line and 91% from the free throw line all to average 29.6, his second highest career average. Even though the Thunder lost 104-99 to the Warriors last night and we haven’t reached the all-star break, OKC is still the favorite to come out of the Western Conference.
KD’s line of 33 points, nine assists, five rebounds and three blocks wasn’t enough to top Golden State, but no one would bet against him come the post-season. His high praise never seems to stop, as even Kobe Bryant said Durant would give him more trouble than LeBron in a one-on-one game. Bryant doesn’t give out confidence easily, but seeing as Durant took a scoring title and a playoff series from Bryant, he’s earned it. He’s also earned his fifth signature shoe and the Zoom KD V, with it’s Zoom Air in the forefoot and Air Max in the heel for a responsive landing, is a testament to his game. The KD design only gets better as KD the player matures.
Watch for the takeover.
