SPOTTED: Steph Curry Drops 38 Points in the Nike Hyperfuse 2012

First an all-star snub and now this. For the first time in his career, Steph Curry not catching a break is a bad thing. With averages of 21.3 points, 6.5 assists and 4 rebounds per game, there’s no surprise that scored 38 points, had four assists and three steals last night in the 108-97 road loss against Indiana. There is, however, a little humor in the fact that his sneakers almost served triple-purpose. While playing, Curry’s well documented ankles were protected by the Hyperfuse construction which features high sidewalls for a secure fit. The same stability may have saved Curry from serious sidelining injury when Roy Hibbert tossed him around for playing Jack, the Giant Slayer.

Lastly, the strategically placed traction patterns on the rubber outsole helped him put someone else on the wrong end of a crossover highlight for a change. The grip on the Hyperfuse was on full display when Curry makes the cut motion one way for misdirection and comes back to his right, leaving George Hill on the hardwood.
