We can bet that Boston is planning parades and getting all necessary arrangements ready as the Red Sox come back to Boston with a 3-2 series lead against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Red Sox defeated St. Louis 3-1 behind some big hits from Jacoby Ellsbury, David Ortiz and some great pitching from Jon Lester. With the Red Sox owning the 3-2 series lead, the Red Sox are a near lock to clinch another World Series championship. Will the Cardinals be able to alter that course?

Week Eight officially ended in the NFL season with a Seattle Seahawks 14-9 victory over the St. Louis Rams making this a bad night for St. Louis. The Rams lost on a late-game drive where they failed to get in the end zone to win the game. Russell Wilson threw two touchdowns, and the Seahawks defense had two interceptions. Two seems to be the lucky number of that game. Here are The Shoes That Won Last Night.

Player: Earl Thomas
Game: Seattle Seahawks vs. St. Louis Rams

The Seahawks offense was rather average in their 14-9 victory over the St. Louis Rams. Thomas was impactful with a team-leading 10 total tackles for the Seahawks in their victory. The Seahawks safety was a part of a great defensive performance that prevented the Rams from scoring a single touchdown and stopping the Rams on a last stand late in the fourth quarter. Check out Thomas' Air Jordan XII PE's.

Shoe: Mizuno 9-Spike Advanced Classic 7
Player: David Ross
Game: Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals

We rarely post anything about David Ross' offense to be frank. Ross hit .216 during the regular season and is more known for his defensive prowess and his ability to call a game with the Red Sox pitching staff. Ross came through in clutch fashion breaking a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning to give the Red Sox the lead for good. The backup catcher will be remembered for his clutch play, especially if the Red Sox can finish the job in the next two games.

Player: Bruce Irvin
Game: Seattle Seahawks vs. St. Louis Rams

The best players in the NFL on defense usually affect the game in so many ways. Young rising star Bruce Irvin did just that with an all-around quality night in Seattle's 14-9 victory over St. Louis. Irvin had 9 total tackles, a sack, and an interception in Seattle's strong overall defensive performance. Expect to hear more about Irvin throughout the next year as he builds his resume.

Player: Jacoby Ellsbury
Game: Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals

Jacoby Ellsbury might enjoy this World Series win, but he might enjoy the eventual free agent payoff he should receive this upcoming MLB offseason. The Red Sox star hit a bloop RBI single in the top of the seventh inning that had to upset any Red Sox haters who were disappointed to see the Red Sox build their lead and pad the lead for closer Koji Uehara.

Shoe: Nike Lunar Super Bad Pro TD
Player: Russell Wilson
Game: Seattle Seahawks vs. St. Louis Rams

While we won't put Russell Wilson in that Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady elite class of quarterback, Russell Wilson is moving up the NFL ranks and is building the profile of the Seahawks. Wilson threw for two touchdowns and 139 passing yards in the 14-9 win for the Seahawks. It wasn't his best individual performance, but he got the Seahawks to one of the best records in the NFL at 7-1 and they seem to be unstoppable with a unique blend of offense and defense that is just pounding teams into submission.

Player: David Ortiz
Game: Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals

A good start is the key to a good victory. David Ortiz didn't waste any time in giving the Red Sox a lead. Ortiz had an RBI double in the top of the first inning to give the Red Sox an early 1-0 advantage over St. Louis. Ortiz has been on fire in the World Series. Big Papi is batting 11-for-15 in the World Series with two home runs and six RBIs in five games. World Series MVP anyone?

Player: Golden Tate
Game: Seattle Seahawks vs. St. Louis Rams

In a game where the Seahawks really couldn't get their offense going, Golden Tate came through and produced. The Seattle wide receiver accounted for both Seahawks touchdowns catching one pass from Russell Wilson in the first half and another one in the second half. In the third quarter Tate caught an 80-yard pass from Wilson to give the Seahawks a 14-6 lead, and they were able to hold on through the power of their defense.

Shoe: Nike Air Max MVP Elite 3/4 Metal
Player: Jon Lester
Game: Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals

Boston owes a lot of their success to starter Jon Lester. Lester has quietly become the clutch and dominant leader among the Red Sox starting rotation. In Boston's 3-1 victory, Lester was fantastic. He pitched 7.2 innings all while giving up just 4 hits and 1 run. lester also fanned 7 in the Boston victory making it a rather easy win. The Red Sox pulled off an impressive two-game stretch winning two games in St. Louis. With the series headed back to Boston and the Red Sox having a 3-2 advantage this series looks finished. We can expect the Boston faithful to be rowdy and antsy to win another World Series trophy.
