Recently, Nike announced the winner of the "Design For Tiger" contest, where fans got a chance to customize their own pair of Nike TW '14, and a winner would be chosen by Tiger himself. The winning pair, designed by Dane Thompson, featured a patriotic themed Red/White/Blue colorway and was inspired by Team USA in the upcoming Olympics as well as the 2014 Ryder Cup and US Open.
The 2014 season is upon us, as Tiger is playing in this third tournament of the year thus far, the Honda Classic, held in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Tiger hit the course this morning in the custom Nike TW '14 from the "Design For Tiger" contest, posting a 1 over-par 71 in the first round.
In addition to winning the contest and having Tiger wear his design, Thompson also received a signed pair of his specially designed TW'14 shoes.
Thousands of submissions for the contest may have sparked an idea in Nike, as they recently made the Nike TW '14 available to customize on NIKEiD, making it the first Nike golf shoe to do so.
