As we enter the second to last month of 2014, the adidas adizero Adios Boost 2 is certainly making its case for running shoe of the year. With Wilson Kipsang and Mary Keitany's victories at the New York City Marathon yesterday, the sneaker notched it's 21st and 22nd major race triumph this year, including Dennis Kimetto's world record-setting run in the Berlin Marathon.

With numbers like that, it's certainly hard to name any other sneaker besides the ardizero Adios Boost 2 the running shoe of 2014. Both Kipsang and Keitany certainly helped the sneaker's cause with their performances yesterday. For Kipsang, the win was his eighth overall and second this year after crossing the finish line first in London a few months ago. Keitany's victory was her third career marathon win, after finishing third in the race in 2011. The three second margin between her and second place finisher Jemima Sumgong tied for the narrowest margin between first and second place in the race's illustrious history.

Head over to adidas to pick up a pair of the adizero Adios Boost 2 for $140 and lets us know if you think there are any other candidates for running shoe of the year?
