Practical wisdom says that when you’re running, it’s a good idea to let the people around you know what you’re doing deliberately for safety, and what better way to do that than where a shoe that has neon safety-cone orange accents?

All kidding aside, the Saucony Kinvara 4 ViZiGLO is a shoe that takes itself pretty seriously, regardless of his chromatic appearance. The silver upper is purposeful, making use of reflective materials that bounce light when you’re out on your jog, further putting to the good use the cautionary nature of the ViZiOrange hue that pops on the shoe.

Comfort seems to be an overarching theme as well, with internal bootie construction for a smooth fit, memory foam in the inner heel to lock the foot in when the laces are secured, and that’s not the end of it. Two forms of Saucony midsole foam (PowerGrid and EVA+) ensure a cushion that is effective for good impact absorption and pressure distribution (with a layer of high-grade carbon rubber in the outsole to protect the integrity of the foam a bit).

Put all that together in a sub-8 oz. shoe, and you’ve got the makings of a winning performance runner. (The shoe, not necessarily the guy running in it.)
