The World Cup has gotten off to a roaring start with goals being scored left and right. With the unusually high number of goals being scored, one has to wonder if the actual ball is playing a role in it.

There has been plenty of controversy before surrounding the World Cup ball, most recently in 2010 when the eight paneled Jubulani made its debut to less than flattering reviews. Gizmodo has taken a look back at every World Cup ball since the tournaments inception in 1930. Once inflated through tie up laces, the ball has now become a six paneled, technological marvel.
