For the host nation of such a massive global event like the World Cup, there's often perks. Brazil will be hosting the 2014 World Cup when it kicks off this summer, and Nike hooked them up.
The 2014 away kit for the Brazilian National Team was revealed today and will debut them in the second half of their international friendly in South Africa. Inspiration for the uniform was drawn from the energy and movement Brazilian people bring to sport, dance and life. The jersey features a traditional away blue with tonal stripes, geometric circles and diamond designs that are featured in the nations flag. The blue used was chosen to represent the beautiful ocean coast and surf culture Brazil has to offer, and incorporates an enlarged Brazilian crest over the chest. Inside the jersey features a classic Brazilian saying "Nascido para jogar futebol," which translates to, "Born to Play Football."
Much like other kits from Nike, the Brazilian away kit used specialized fit research to created a perfectly tailored fit to increase range of motion and comfort. Nike Dri-Fit was also incorporated into the design to aid in cooling and moisture management to keep players at their peak performance level.
The 2014 Nike Brazilian away kit goes on pre-sale March 19 on Nike.com, and will be available in stores beginning April 3.
