Rather than commissioning a new artist to design its latest tight, the Nike Tight of the Moment collection is looking towards the World Cup for inspiration. For a unique show of support and patriotism, the Tight of the Moment is tapping into World Cup Fever with four new designs inspired by the American, Brazilian, English and French national team kits. Thanks to the latest installment of the highly popular collection, female fans can show off their loyalty in a fashionable ad practical way.
“This collection is a tribute to both the body in movement and the summer of football,” says Julie Igarashi, Vice President of Global Design for Nike Women’s Training. “Female athletes can show their support for their favorite teams in style, no matter if they’re cheering in the crowd or doing box jumps in the gym.”
Taking elements from each of the four team’s uniforms, the tights use body-mapping data to strategically place the patterns to highlight muscles and heating and cooling zones in a “flattering fashion.”
The jingoistic patterns are printed on Nike Pro tights, which are equipped with Dri-Fit fabric that pulls sweat away from the skin to help keep the athlete dry and comfortable.
The Nike Tight of the Moment x Federation Collection will be available starting June 12 online and at select Nike retailers.
