The game of the day and possibly the NFL season had to be the Dallas Cowboys-Denver Broncos matchup yesterday, with the Broncos defeating the Cowboys 51-48 behind four touchdowns from Peyton Manning. The Cowboys had a chance with the ball late in the game, but quarterback Tony Romo threw an interception that put the Broncos in perfect position to kick a field goal which they did successfully to take the close win. It turns out Peyton Manning is human.

In MLB action, the Pirates won a close 5-3 matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals to take a 2-1 series lead. Marlon Byrd had a big two-run single with two outs in the first inning, and Pedro Alvarez and Russell Martin both had one-run singles to give the Pirates the 5-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning before Jason Grilli came in to close out the Cardinals. These are The Shoes That Won Last Night.
